Why Room Party Parent?
One of the main responsibilities of a room parent is planning, organizing, and leading several class parties throughout the school year. While party planning can be exciting and fun, it can also be stressful and time
consuming. As we get busier and busier with family, jobs, side hustles, social engagements, holiday traditions, etc., let’s face it - we have less and less time to devote to planning not one, not two, but at least three parties! And,
these are not just any parties. These are classroom parties designed to keep 20+ kids happy and engaged. It’s not as easy as it looks. (At least not for some of us!) That’s where Room Party Parent comes in.
My name is Dana Schultz and I am the founder of Room Party Parent. I am a Missouri girl, born and raised. I even stuck around to attend college at the University of Missouri where I nabbed a degree in Room Parenting
with a minor in Holiday Fun. Ha...I wish! My official degree is in Nutrition and Fitness, but where’s the fun in that?? All my room parent qualifications come from actual on the job experience. I am the mother of two delightful,
headstrong, curious little treasures and I’ve actively been involved in room parenting since they came along. I’ve noticed through the years that the number of parents/guardians willing to take on the role of room parent seems to be
dwindling. I think this is due to the mountain of responsibilities we already have and that seem forever growing. I created Room Party Parent as a way to encourage parents/guardians to remain active in their child’s classroom while
providing a stress free way to do so.
When I am not planning classroom parties, you can find me toying with Photoshop/Illustrator, exercising (my fitness degree haunts me otherwise), volunteering, or dreaming about my family’s next getaway.
